Being human can feel heavy at times. You might be keeping things going on the outside, while inside you feel anxious, low, stressed, or unsure how to move forward. Maybe old patterns keep pulling you back, even though part of you wants something different. You don’t have to figure this out alone. Together, we can get curious about your life and explore what living more fully could look like for you.
I am a Registered Social Worker with a Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology from the University of Toronto. I have almost 30 years of experience working with people from many different communities. Over the years, I’ve supported people facing mood and anxiety problems, the impact of trauma and stress, low self-esteem, relationship and family struggles, substance use, disordered eating, and questions about gender and sexuality.
I enjoy working with clients who are willing to be a little curious and honest. My attention will be on what brought you here and what you need from therapy in order to move forward. In our sessions, I’ll ask about your story, how you see your life now, and where you hope to go. We’ll move at a pace that feels respectful and manageable.
In my work, I draw from Gestalt therapy, attachment ideas, mindfulness, emotion-focused work, and body-based (somatic) approaches. In simple terms, this means we pay attention not only to your thoughts, but also to your feelings, your body, and your relationships. Together, we can notice patterns, make room for your emotions, and experiment with new ways of responding in daily life. Each session, you’ll also fill out a very short check-in about how you’re doing and how the session felt, so we can see what’s helping and keep your therapy on track.
When I’m not at work, I enjoy being in the forest and paddling my canoe. Indoors, I like reading, listening to music, making soup, and writing poetry. These things help me stay grounded and remind me that a full life can include both quiet moments and big questions.
