Being human can feel overwhelming. Your mind may race while your body feels tight, numb, or on edge. You might feel anxious, low, lonely, or stuck in patterns you can’t seem to change. You don’t have to work through this on your own. Together, we can slow things down and help you feel more present and alive in your own life.

I started out by running groups in yoga, meditation, and stress reduction. I worked with people living with anxiety, women in recovery, and people in community mental health settings. Later, I trained in Gestalt psychotherapy, which asks therapists to do their own personal work. This helps me stay humble and real when I sit with you. Now I work mainly with body-based (somatic) psychotherapy, which means we pay kind attention to both your body and your stories.

I often work with people facing mood and anxiety problems, loneliness, grief, and big life changes. I also support people dealing with relationship stress, questions about sexuality or LGBTQ+ identity, and the impact of addictions or trauma. Many of the people I see have a big-picture view of life. They sense that we are shaped not only by our thoughts and biology, but also by our relationships, communities, and surroundings.

When we begin, we’ll take a little time to arrive. We might notice your breathing and what you feel in your body as we sit together. As we do this, you can become more aware of your sensations, thoughts, and emotions. Over time, this can help you accept your feelings as part of your life and explore new ways to respond, instead of reacting on autopilot. Each session, you’ll also fill out a very short check-in about how you’re doing and how the session felt, so we can see what’s helping and keep your therapy on track.

Outside of work, I like to move. I ride my bike, go to live music, study singing, and dance, whether it’s salsa or a night of techno. I also spend a lot of time walking my dog, especially when she can roam free in High Park. If you’d like a space to listen to your body, your emotions, and your wider world, I’d be glad to meet you.
