KASI SEWRAJ

, M.ED, RP

Registered Psychotherapist, Master of Education in Counselling Psychology from the University of Ottawa

As your therapist, it would be my honour and privilege to sit with you in your story. I see my role as a gentle listener and a thoughtful guide. I’m here to support you and, when it feels right, to gently challenge you so that real change can happen. I believe that connection can heal. My hope is that our time together feels like a safe space to explore, uncover, and rediscover who you are.

My style has been described as warm, supportive, gentle, compassionate, and playful. I see you as the expert on your own life. I bring my training and experience, and you bring your lived experience. Together, we’ll use a collaborative approach to make sure you are getting what you want and need from therapy. I especially enjoy working with people who are open and curious, who want to understand their patterns and make sense of the habits they notice in themselves.

I have experience supporting people through many concerns, including anxiety, depression, substance use, work–life imbalance, life transitions, stress, academic pressures, relationship problems, grief and loss, and difficult emotions. I also work with childhood trauma, questions of identity (racial, cultural, sexual), and women’s issues. Whatever you are facing, we’ll hold it together and move at a pace that feels manageable for you.

My academic path started at the University of Toronto, where I studied neuroscience and Buddhist Psychology. Later, I completed my Master of Education in Counselling Psychology at the University of Ottawa. I was trained in narrative therapy, cognitive behavioural therapy, and mindfulness, and over time, I’ve grown an integrative approach. In simple terms, that means I pull helpful ideas from different ways of working and adapt them to fit you and your goals.

In a first session, we’ll focus on getting to know each other and feeling the “energy” of the space together. I’ll ask what has brought you into therapy and what you hope might be different. From there, we’ll come up with a goal and talk through different approaches we could take. In most sessions, we’ll start with a quick check-in about how therapy is feeling, what’s helpful, and what we might adjust, so you don’t have to guess whether our work together is on the right track.

Outside of therapy, I love to work out and move my body. I enjoy spending time with friends and trying new restaurants. I also play the saxophone and, right now, I’m studying French and Portuguese as I get ready for a trip to Portugal. These parts of my life help me stay grounded, curious, and fully human in the therapy room.

If you sense that we might be a good fit, I’d be glad to connect and walk alongside you as you explore your story, your patterns, and the next chapter of your life.
