Starting therapy can feel intimidating, especially when so much is already on your plate. In our work together, you won’t have to sort it all out on your own. We’ll create a steady, respectful space where you can pause, breathe, and start to make sense of what you’re going through.
Maybe you’ve been feeling overwhelmed by stress and worry. Maybe your mood has dropped, your motivation has faded, or you just don’t feel like yourself lately. You might be carrying heavy feelings like guilt or shame, noticing changes in your relationship with substances, or struggling after the loss of someone or something important. Whatever you’re facing, we’ll slow things down and gently untangle what’s been building up, at a pace that feels safe for you.
In our sessions, you can expect warmth, curiosity, and a real effort to understand your world. We’ll explore what matters most to you and look at the patterns in your thoughts, feelings, and actions that might be keeping you stuck. Step by step, we’ll find small, practical ways to cope better, care for yourself, and move toward a life that feels more aligned with your values.
We may look at how certain ways of thinking feed into worry or low mood and practice new responses when life feels hard. This is drawn from cognitive behavioural therapy, or CBT. We might also use mindfulness to help you notice your inner experience with more kindness and less judgment, or focus on your strengths to help you build on what is already working.
Because your time and energy matter, each session you’ll complete a very short check-in about how you’re doing and how the session felt. We’ll look at it together so we can see what is working and make changes quickly if something isn’t. This helps us keep our work focused on what truly supports you.
Reaching out is a big step, but you do not have to do this alone. If you choose to work with me, we’ll build a space where your story is respected, your feelings are welcome, and your goals guide our work.
